Day 1

Fly to Sydney, board the Indian Pacific

Your luxurious Aussie adventure begins today with your flight to Sydney, where you will be met by your driver for your private transfer to the train station to board the Indian Pacific. A friendly and helpful staff member will escort you to your comfortable cabin which will be your home for the duration of your epic and romantic 4352 km railway journey. Depart Sydney that afternoon. As you approach the spectacular Blue Mountains to settle back, relax, in the privacy of your air-conditioned cabin or head to the Outback Explorer Lounge and enjoy a welcome drink in the company of other passengers. 

As your train makes its way through these sensational mountain ranges it's time to indulge yourself in the fine dining experience for which the Indian Pacific is renowned, the elegant Queen Adelaide Restaurant serves up mouth-watering fare produced onboard by talented chefs, wash it down with a glass or two of fine wines from the extensive selection available.

Day 2

Indian Pacific (Broken Hill and Adelaide)

This morning the Indian Pacific arrives at Broken Hill where you make your first off-train excursion, explore this historic outback mining town where BHP Billiton has its origins and visit the Pro Hart Gallery and learn about one of Australia's most iconic artists, back onboard the Indian Pacific breakfast awaits as you then continue your journey deep into South Australia on the southern edge of the mighty Flinders Ranges. 

The landscape outside your cabin window undergoes a dramatic transformation from the barren remoteness of the outback to the golden fields of South Australia's food-bowl as you near beautiful Adelaide where you have the option to spend time in the city itself enjoying its many attractions, or alternatively you can choose to visit the picturesque Barossa Valley and its fabulous boutique wineries, your day finishes back on board the Indian Pacific with a welcoming nightcap awaiting you on your bedside table.

Passengers who departed from Adelaide will embark the train this evening.

Day 3

 Indian Pacific (Cook and The Nullarbor)

You’ll spot the vast horizon beyond the window this morning as you arrive on the edges of the sweeping Nullarbor Plain. The ancient stillness of the desert landscape is broken only by a mob of friendly kangaroos or the occasional circling bird of prey. Enjoy an off-train excursion in Cook. Once a bustling railway community, and now effectively a ghost town, Cook gives new meaning to the expression “middle of nowhere”.

Get a sense of the Nullarbor’s intense remoteness as you wander through Cook’s abandoned buildings and learn more about the town’s intriguing history. Back on board, the beverages are cold and the welcoming atmosphere of the Outback Explorer Lounge inspires conversation and laughter. Sit back and relax as the train continues its trek across the longest single stretch of railway in the world.

Day 4

 Indian Pacific (Disembark in Perth)

Today the Indian Pacific rolls into the undulating landscape and emerald vales of the scenic Avon Valley as you approach Perth, you've just completed an unforgettable adventure on one of the world's great railway journeys where you will be transferred from the train terminus to your hotel for check-in.

This three and a half hour tour takes in most of the city's major attractions, takes you to South Perth across the Swan River, along Perth beaches and through Kings Park full of magnificent seasonal wildflowers. Wildflower Discovery Tour

This morning, get picked up from your hotel and enjoy a full day exploring the magnificent wildflowers of Perth and the surrounding regional areas on your specialised wildflower tour.

You will travel to the best areas surrounding Perth to experience the remarkable wildflower phenomenon, visiting places such as the Darling Escarpment, Wireless Pak, Gingin and Toodyay.  The itinerary varies and is designed to help ensure you visit the areas with the most prolific wildflowers on the day. Profusion varies daily and is dependent on mother nature. 

Your experienced botanical guide will identify rare flowers and show you popular favourites such as everlastings, orchids, red & green kangaroo paw, banksia, bottle brush and of course Western Australia’s famous orange flowering Christmas trees. Stop for lunch close to the wildflowers and enjoy ample time to identify and photograph the flowers.

You will also be guided through Kings Park Botanic Garden. Perched high on the Mt Eliza scarp in the heart of Kings Park, this world-famous botanic facility is a sweeping 17 hectares of stunning garden displays, featuring 3,000 striking species from around the state.  Plantings are grouped by regions of the state or notable taxonomic groups, and some are purely for a spectacular display.
