Day 1

Australia Tokyo

Today, depart Australia and fly to the land of ancient traditions and iconic temples! On arrival, activate your JR Rail Pass at the JR Travel Service Center in Narita Airport. Once activated, book your seat on the next Narita Express to Tokyo and head over to your hotel.

Day 2

Tokyo

Enjoy a free day in Japan's megacity, Tokyo! You may like to spend a day in Tokyo Disneyland or Disney Sea ($120). Some other places you may be interested in going are: the Imperial Palace, Ginza District, Asakusa and Senso-ji Temple, National Museum of Nature and Science, Ueno Park and Zoo, Tokyo National Museum, National Museum of Western Art, Meiji Shrine, Miraikan and Edo-Tokyo Museums, Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Tower, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Harajuku, Ghibli Museum, National Art Centre and Kabuki-za Theatre.

Day 3

Tokyo Kyoto

Board a Shinkansen to Kyoto today. On arrival, enjoy your free time to experience Kyoto's incredible plethora of Buddhist temples or palaces. Perhaps head over to Nara Park, home to hundreds of freely roaming deer. Considered in Shinto to be messengers of gods, Nara's nearly 1200 deer have become a symbol of the city.

Day 4

Kyoto

Enjoy your day at leisure to explore this spectacular city rich with culture, tradition and mouthwatering food. Perhaps visit the Kinkakuji Temple otherwise known as the Golden Pavilion. Kinkakuji is a Zen temple and World Heritage site with two floors covered entirely in thin layers of pure gold and detailed architecture incorporating three distinct architectural styles of Shinden, Samurai and Zen.

Day 5

Kyoto Osaka

Catch your high-speed train from Tokyo to Osaka today! On arrival, enjoy your day at leisure and make sure you visit Osaka's central food and entertainment centres, Dotonbori. Enjoy wandering around trying local foods, shopping districts and posing with one of Osaka's famous icons - Gurico!

Day 6

Osaka

Enjoy your day at leisure to discover Osaka and don't forget to tick off the famous Osaka Castle from your bucket-list. Osaka Castle has been of great importance throughout Japanese history, especially during 1583 and 1585 when warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi built it and ruled Japan there. Try the plethora of eateries serving delicious food in Dotonbori and relax on your last day in Japan before you fly back home.

Osaka Australia

Check out from your hotel and catch a train to the airport for your flight home today!
