Commence your extensive tour of Turkey, Jordan & Egypt on arrival into Istanbul. Enjoy a tour of the cities beautiful ancient Mosques, Cathedrals, Bazaars & spice markets. Next you are off to the town of Gallipoli to visit the Anzac Cemetery Memorial sites. Continue your travels with visits to Troy, tour this 4000 year old city and the legendary centre of the Trojan War then onto Pergamum and Kusadasi. Visit the Necropolis and the ancient city of Hierapolis "Holy City," a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated atop the Pamukkale hot springs. Travel from Pamukkale, to the "Cotton Castle," to Konya, a city renowned for its Seljuk architecture and also as the home of the "Whirling Dervishes." Depart for Cappadocia, visiting the magnificent Caravanserai of Sultanhan en route before touring Guvercinlik, Uchisar, Pasabag, and the Devrent Valley. Famed for temples and houses cut directly into the region's spectacular rock formations, Cappadocia has captivated travellers for centuries.  You will continue your travels onto Ankara and return to Istanbul before departing for Cairo. Take an international flight from Australia to Istanbul.

Day 2

Istanbul

Arrive in Istanbul, at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure to rest, relax and acclimate to your new time zone. This evening, join your Tour Manager and fellow travellers for a Welcome Drink and orientation meeting at approximately 7 PM at your hotel.

Day 3

Istanbul

Embark on a half-day morning tour of Istanbul, the only city that straddles two continents. Your tour includes a short briefing and a picture stop at the courtyard of the Blue Mosque, a 17th century Ottoman Mosque famous with its six minarets and magnificent interior with blue tiles. Continue to the Hippodrome, the place where chariot races and competitive athletic events took place during the Roman period. You will also visit St. Sophia - the great Byzantine Basilica built in the 6th century, which remained the largest cathedral in the world for almost a thousand years, it was later converted to a mosque and now serves as a museum. Then, onto the lively Spice Market with its unforgettable aromas. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, exploring this city that blurs the line between East and West, with incredible architecture that is rivalled only by its spectacular natural setting on the Bosphorus Strait. Alternatively, choose to partake in the optional tour to the Topkapi Palace residence of Ottoman Sultans and the Grand Bazaar, where bargaining is an art. This evening, join your Tour Manager and fellow travellers for a Welcome Dinner together.

Day 4

Anzac Cemetery  Canakkale

This morning, drive to the town of Gallipoli, site of the famous Ottoman victory against the Allies during World War I. Visit the Anzac Cemetery, a memorial to the casualties of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, whose fame grew back home as word of their heroic efforts spread. Afterwards, cross the Dardanelles by ferry and continue to the Canakkale province, located in northwest Turkey, where you will arrive in the early evening.

Day 5

Troy  Pergamum  Kusadasi

This morning, proceed to the classical city of Troy. Tour this 4000-year-old city and legendary centre of the Trojan War, made immortal by Homer's epic poem The Iliad. Then, drive to Pergamum, a powerful kingdom during the ancient Hellenistic period, and visit the Asclepion, the ancient Roman spa centre. Continue to Kusadasi, a city believed to be the birthplace of Homer, where you will arrive in the early evening.

Kusadasi

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Kusadasi. Or, join an optional tour to Ancient Ephesus where the Temple of Artemis, one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World," once stood.

Day 7

Pamukkale Hot Springs  Necropolis  Hierapolis

Depart Kusadasi and drive to Pamukkale, famous for its mineral-rich hot springs and white terraces. Visit the Necropolis and the ancient city of Hierapolis "Holy City," a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated atop the Pamukkale hot springs. The Pamukkale hot springs have served as a therapeutic thermal spa since the 2nd century B.C. Tonight, gather together for dinner.

Day 8

Pamukkale  Konya

Today, travel from Pamukkale, the "Cotton Castle," to Konya, a city renowned for its Seljuk architecture and also as the home of the "Whirling Dervishes." Arrive in the afternoon and visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana with its distinctive fluted dome of turquoise tiles. View works of the 13th-century leader Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, one of the greatest mystical poets of Islam. The Mevlevi Sufi order was founded to follow his teachings.

Day 9

Konya  Caravanserai of Sultanhan Cappadocia

Depart for Cappadocia, visiting the magnificent Caravanserai of Sultanhan en route. Afterwards, visit Guzelyurt, a fine example of cave dwellings and Greek influences in the Cappadocia region. Following a special home-hosted lunch, continue to Nevsehir in Cappadocia. Upon arrival in Cappadocia, visit a carpet atelier and have a demonstration of carpet weaving. After, check in to your hotel with free time before dinner. Tonight, attend the optional Whirling Dervish performance; their captivating mystical ritual connects one in infinite spinning to perfect harmony.

Day 10

Morning Sightseeing in Cappadocia

Spend the morning exploring Cappadocia with your group to see Guvercinlik, Uchisar, Pasabag, and the Devrent Valley. Famed for temples and houses cut directly into the region's spectacular rock formations, Cappadocia has captivated travellers for centuries.

Day 11

Ankara  Mausoleum of Kemal Ataturk

This morning, depart for Ankara, the capital and the second-largest city of Turkey. Upon arrival, visit the Mausoleum of Kemal Ataturk, founder and first president of the Turkish Republic. Leading up to the Mausoleum, also known as the Anitkabir, lies a vast brick courtyard and monumental avenue lined with NeoHittite stone statues and cenotaphs beneath its colonnades. The most noted cenotaphs within the complex are those of General Ismet Inonu, a close comrade of Ataturk's and his successor, and that of Ataturk himself, a large and highly decorative marble cenotaph, beneath which lies his tomb. Continue to the Anatolian Civilizations Museum - built in two Ottoman buildings located near Ankara Castle. The Museum, being among exceptional museums with its unique collection, exhibits Anatolian archaeological artifacts, as well as artifacts from the Paleolithic Age to the present.

Day 12

Ankara Istanbul

Depart for Istanbul, arriving in the early afternoon. Leisure time to explore on your own on this last day in Turkey. Perhaps, embark on the optional cruise along the Bosphorus, the winding straits separating Europe and Asia. View humble fishing villages and suspension bridges set against the dramatic outline of the Strait. Tonight, attend a festive Farewell Dinner with your newfound friends and Tour Manager.

Day 13

Istanbul Cairo

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Upon your arrival at Cairo airport, you will be met by our local representative, who will assist you through immigration and passport control and collecting your baggage. You will then be transferred to your hotel, where your Egyptologist tour guide, who will accompany you for the duration of the tour, will brief you about the tour package and the incredible experiences you will have over the following eight days.

Day 14

Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Sakkara

This morning you will experience the icons of ancient Egypt! Your Egyptologist guide will accompany you to the Giza pyramid complex, where you can see the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx. We'll then visit Sakkara to see the unique step pyramid of Zoser (also known as Djoser), the first-ever pyramid, constructed of six tombs built on top of each other.

Day 15

Cairo Aswan  Nile Cruise - Aswan and Philae Temple

Early this morning you will be transferred to the airport for a short internal flight down to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to our 5-star Nile cruise ship. After some time to freshen up, we'll begin our Nile quest by visiting the High Dam of Aswan, where your guide will explain to you how the construction of the dam and subsequent creation of Lake Nasser required the relocation of the Nubian people and several important historical monuments, including Abu Simbel, which you have the opportunity to visit tomorrow. We'll then take a short boat ride to Agilkia Island to explore the Temple of Isis at Philae. Built during the Ptolemaic Kingdom (305 BC to 30 BC), the temple is dedicated to Isis, one of the oldest goddesses of ancient Egypt and worshipped as the paragon of motherly virtues. It is believed that the last Egyptian hieroglyph was written on the island of Philae in the late fourth century.

Day 16

 Nile Cruise - Kom Ombo

This morning you will have the opportunity to join our optional excursion to the temples of Abu Simbel, two massive temples in southern Egypt. Part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the "Nubian Monuments", these iconic temples were carved out of the mountainside in the 13th century BC, during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II. The tour then continues with a visit to the Temple of Kom-Ombo, a unique 'double' temple dedicated to both the crocodile god Sobek, and the falcon god Haroeris (Horus). After some time to explore the temple, we'll then continue on to Luxor, where we'll spend the night on board the 5-star cruise ship.

Day 17

 Nile Cruise - Luxor and Karnak Temple

After breakfast, we will arrive in Luxor and tour the East Bank of Luxor. Experience the incredible Karnak temple complex, part of the ancient city of Thebes. Dedicated to the powerful ram-headed god Amun, it offers a vast mix of temples, chapels, statues and obelisks. We'll then explore Luxor temple, a place of worship that is dedicated to three gods: Amun, his wife Mut and his son Khons. Together these temples and gods are key players in the great Opet Festival which was held each year during the flood season.

Day 18

Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut and Hurghada

This morning we'll start our tour of the west bank with a visit to the World famous Valley of the Kings, where you can enter some of the incredible tombs of the New Kingdom Pharaohs, such as King Tutankhamen. We'll then get to experience the Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir El Bahary), the mortuary temple of the only Pharaoh Queen that ruled Egypt. The day will finish off with a visit to the great Colossi of Memnon, the last remains of Amenophis III temple. We'll then take our air-conditioned private bus to Hurghada on the Red Sea coast, where we'll be staying at an all-inclusive resort.

Day 19

Hurghada

This is a free day for you to enjoy however you wish. The resort in Hurghada offers a large swimming pool complex, long sandy beaches and all-inclusive food and drink; total relaxation awaits! Alternatively, you can choose to take part in any number of water sport activities, including full-day snorkelling and scuba diving excursions. The seas around Hurghada offer some of the best coral reef dive spots in the world, giving the opportunity to see many colourful fish species, including the Red Sea Clownfish, Emperor Angelfish, Picasso Trigger Fish and Moray Eels.

Day 20

Hurghada  Cairo

This morning we'll take an air-conditioned private minibus back to Cairo. After some time to freshen up at our hotel, we'll visit the Egyptian museum to learn more about the country's incredible ancient history, followed by the old city of Cairo where you can explore Khan El Khalili, a bazaar crammed with souvenir shops, cafés and shisha bars.

Day 21

Cairo Amman

After breakfast at our hotel in Cairo, transfers included to take you to the airport for your flight to Jordan. Arrive in Amman, Capital of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; transfer directly to your hotel in the Dead Sea area. Spend the rest of the day at leisure to rest, relax and adjust to your new exotic surroundings.

Day 22

Dead Sea

The day is yours to enjoy all of the delights and countless pleasures of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Swim in the therapeutic waters and sample the Dead Sea’s renowned restorative powers. Pamper yourself with fabulous treatments, or just marvel at the beautiful surroundings and natural beauty of this area. Alternatively, you have the chance to take part in an optional Excursion to the Jordan Valley. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Drink and orientation meeting with your Tour Manager and fellow travellers.

Day 23

Bethany  Petra

After breakfast, travel towards Petra. En route, stop at the village of Bethany, the site of Jesus' baptism by John the Baptist. This is also the area where the prophet Elijah ascended to heaven via a chariot of fire. The sites that make up Bethany was part of early Christian pilgrimages between Mt. Nebo and Jerusalem. Arrive in Petra and check in to your hotel. Your evening is at leisure.

Madaba  Mount Nebo

After breakfast, travel to Amman. En route, stop at Kerak Castle, constructed during the Crusader era. Visit the mosaic city of Madaba, where an ancient map of the Holy Land is set into the floor of Saint George's Church. Continue with a visit to Mount Nebo, the reputed burial site of Moses, overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Afterwards, arrive in Amman, the capital of the Kingdom of Jordan. Often referred to as the "White City" because of the white stone used to build the houses, Amman is among the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world.
