 Are you ready for an adventure of a lifetime? 

Touch down in Jordan, where you will visit the ancient Roman ruins in Jerash, explore the capital Amman and marvel at one of the seven wonders of the world - Petra. You will pass the canyon, the so called Siq, to see the most beautiful monument: the Treasury. Continue via the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs and Pharaoh's Castle.  In Ancient Egypt explore Cairo, Luxor and Aswan & Cruise the Nile. Visit the Great Pyramids, Sphinx, Philae Temple, The Luxor Temple and the Valley of the Kings. With sand-covered tombs, austere pyramids and towering Pharaonic temples, Egypt brings out the explorer in all of us. Visit the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, where Tutankhamun’s tomb was unearthed, and see the glittering finds in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. Hop off a Nile boat to visit Dendara, Edfu or one of the other waterside temples or trek into the desert to find the traces of Roman trading outposts.

You never know – your donkey might stumble across yet another find, for that is the way many previous discoveries were made.

Day 1

Australia Jordan

Take an international flight from Australia to Amman. 

Meals included: inflight only

Day 2

Amman

Arrive in Amman and transfer from the airport to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 3

Madaba, the Dead Sea and Petra

After breakfast, transfer to Madaba to visit the church of St. George with the mosaic map, then to Mt. Nebo the believed burial place of Moses overlooking Jordan Valley. Continue to the Dead Sea the lowest point on earth for swimming and relaxing – continue to Petra for the night.

Day 4

Petra

After breakfast, start full day visit of Petra the second wonder of the world and visit all the aspects of the city: the narrow canyon, Treasury, Royal Tombs, Theater & so much more. Then, drive back to Petra.

Day 5

Wadi Rum

After breakfast, drive to Wadi Rum for a tour of the desert by the Bedouin vehicles. Return to Amman for the night.

Day 6

 Amman and Cairo

After breakfast, transfer to Amman Airport for departure to Cairo, Egypt. Upon arrival in Cairo, you will be transferred to your hotel for overnight.

Day 7

Cairo

After breakfast, your private Egyptologist tour guide and driver will pick you up and start your tour. Drive to Giza and visit the Pyramids. See the Great Pyramid, a royal burial chamber and the Sphinx. Lunch en route. Visit the Egyptian Museum; this houses a magnificent collection of Pharaonic antiquities, especially the golden treasures of Tut Ankh Amun.

Day 8

Nile Cruise from Luxor (Karnak and Luxor Temple)

Upon arrival to Luxor, our representative will pick up you for embarkation on your Nile Cruise. visit the great Luxor Temple and the magnificent Karnak Temple of Amun with its famous Hypostyle Hall and the 134 huge columns, the Statue of Ramses II, the Obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut and the Sacred Lake.

Day 9

Nile Cruise (West Bank of Luxor)

In the morning your sightseeing in Luxor includes the West Bank (Thebes) where some of the richest treasures in the world exists, including the Tomb of Tut Ankh Amun (optional) and other royal tombs including Ramses VI in the Valley of the Kings, you will be able to visit some of these tombs,Visit Hatshepsut funerary temple at Dier El Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. Then transfer back to your Cruise for lunch. In the afternoon you will sail through the locks of Esna to Edfu and dinner on board.

Day 10

Nile Cruise (Edfu and Kom-Ombo)

In the morning, Sail to Edfu, visit Edfu temple, then sail to Kom Ombo, where you will visit the Sobek Temple, dedicated to the two gods, which offers beautiful murals and reliefs. Sail to Aswan.

Day 11

Nile Cruise (High Dam, Philae temple, Felucca)

After breakfast, you will visit the High Dam and Philae Temple. In the afternoon you will sail on an Egyptian felucca around Elephantine Island and the Botanical Gardens on Kitchener Island and the Agha Khan Mausoleum. The boat will be in Aswan overnight.

Nile Cruise (Aswan)

Breakfast, free day at leisure. Lunch, dinner on board.

Nile Cruise (Aswan, Kom Ombo and Edfu)

After breakfast, sail to Kom Ombo, sail to Edu. Overnight in Edfu.

Day 14

Nile Cruise (Edfu, Esna and Luxor)

After breakfast, sail to Esna. In the afternoon continue to Luxor, dinner and overnight on board.

Day 15

Luxor, Cairo and Istanbul

After breakfast, disembarkation from the ship, transfer to Luxor airport for your flight back to Cairo, then transfer for your departure flight to Istanbul. Arrive in Istanbul and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day is at leisure. This evening, enjoy dinner and an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager.

Day 16

Istanbul

Enjoy a half day morning tour of Istanbul, the only city that straddles two continents. Your tour includes a short briefing and a picture stop at the courtyard of the Blue Mosque, a 17th century Ottoman Mosque famous with its six minarets and magnificent interior with blue tiles. Continue to the Hippodrome, the place chariot races and competitive athletic events took place during the Roman period. You will also visit St. Sophia - the great Byzantine Basilica built in the 6th century, which remained the largest cathedral in the world for almost a thousand years, it was later converted to a mosque and now serves as a museum. Then onto the lively Spice Market with its unforgettable aromas. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, exploring this city that blurs the line between East and West, with incredible architecture that is rivalled only by its spectacular natural setting on the Bosphorus Strait. In the afternoon, don’t miss the optional tour to the Topkapi Palace residence of Ottoman Sultans and the Grand Bazaar, where bargaining is an art.

Day 17

ANZAC Cemetery and Canakkale

This morning, drive to the town of Gallipoli, site of the famous Ottoman victory against the Allies during World War I. Visit the Anzac Cemetery, a memorial to the casualties of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, whose fame grew back home as word of their heroic efforts spread. Afterwards, cross the Dardanelles by ferry and continue to the Canakkale province, located in northwest Turkey, where you will arrive in the early evening.

Day 18

Troy, Pergamum and Kusadasi

This morning, proceed to the classical city of Troy. Tour this 4000-year-old city and legendary center of the Trojan War, made immortal by Homer's epic poem The Iliad. Then, drive to Pergamum, a powerful kingdom during the ancient Hellenistic period, and visit the Asclepion, the ancient Roman spa center. Continue to Kusadasi, a city believed to be the birthplace of Homer, where you will arrive in the early evening.

Day 19

Kusadasi

Enjoy a full day at leisure in Kusadasi. Or, join the optional tour to Ancient Ephesus where the Temple of Artemis, one of the "Seven Wonders of the Ancient World," once stood. Walk along the 2000 year old marble streets; see the Great Theatre, the Odeon, the Fountain of Trajan, Temple of Hadrian, and the Library of Celsus. Visit the peaceful House of the Virgin Mary, believed to be her last residence and the Basilica of St. John. Following the tour, participate in an optional leather factory visit to shop or return to the hotel.

Day 20

Pamukkale, Necropolis and Hierapolis

Depart Kusadasi and drive to Pamukkale. Visit the Necropolis and the ancient city of Hierapolis "Holy City," a UNESCO a World Heritage Site situated atop the Pamukkale hot springs. The Pamukkale hot springs have served as a therapeutic thermal spa since the 2nd century B.C.

Day 21

Koya

Today, travel from Pamukkale, the "Cotton Castle," to Konya, a city renowned for its Seljuk architecture and also as the home of the "Whirling Dervishes." Arrive in the afternoon and visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana before dinner this evening.

Day 22

Caravanserai of Sultanhan en route to Cappadocia

Depart for Cappadocia, visiting the magnificent Caravanserai of Sultanhan en route. Afterwards, visit Guzelyurt, a fine example of cave dwellings and Greek influences in the Cappadocia region. Following a special home-hosted lunch, continue to Nevsehir in Cappadocia. Upon arrival in Cappadocia, visit a carpet atelier and have a demonstration of carpet weaving. Tonight, attend the optional Whirling Dervish performance; their captivating mystical ritual connects one in infinite spinning to perfect harmony.

Day 23

Cappadocia

Awake very early to participate in the optional hot air Balloon Ride* that takes you soaring over the magnificent Cappadocian landscape with its incredible fairy chimney rock formations -- the feeling is both serene and sublime. Then, enjoy the morning exploring Cappadocia with your group to see Guvercinlik, Uchisar, Pasabag, and the Devrent Valley. Famed for temples and houses cut directly into the region's spectacular rock formations, Cappadocia has captivated travellers for centuries. Or opt to join the optional half day tour of Cappadocia* that includes the Open Air Museum in Goreme Valley; see early Christian churches decorated with unique frescoes. Explore the village of Avanos famous for its beautiful old houses, pottery and onyx. The tour ends at the fascinating Ozkonak Underground City, built on the northern slopes of Mt. Idis (sightseeing order is subject to change)

Day 24

Ankara

This morning, depart for Ankara, the capital and the second largest city of Turkey. Upon arrival, visit the Mausoleum of Kemal Ataturk, founder and first president of the Turkish Republic. Leading up to the Mausoleum, also known as the Anitkabir, lies a vast brick courtyard and monumental avenue lined with NeoHittite stone statues and cenotaphs beneath its colonnades. The most noted cenotaphs within the complex are those of General Ismet Inonu, a close comrade of Ataturk's and his successor, and that of Ataturk himself, a large and highly decorative marble cenotaph, beneath which lies his tomb. Continue to the Anatolian Civilizations Museum - built in two Ottoman buildings located near Ankara Castle. The Museum, being among exceptional museums with its unique collection, exhibits Anatolian archaeological artifacts, as well as artifacts from the Paleolithic Age to the present.

Day 25

Istanbul

Depart for Istanbul, arriving in the early afternoon. Leisure time to explore on your own on this last day in Turkey. Perhaps, embark on the optional cruise along the Bosphorus, the winding straits separating Europe and Asia. View humble fishing villages and suspension bridges set against the dramatic outline of the Strait. Tonight, attend a festive Farewell Dinner with your newfound friends.
