Day 1

Australia Buenos Aires

Fly from Australia to Buenos Aires.

Arrive in the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires. Its beauty is apparent with its elegant architecture, wide tree-shaded boulevards, striking monuments and sprawling parks. Spend the rest of the day at leisure and get acquainted with the “Paris of South America” with its distinct European flavor. As you will have your night at leisure feel free to treat yourself to an Argentinean beef dinner at one of the city's many superb steak restaurants.

Day 2

Buenos Aires Iguazu Falls

Transfer to the airport on a flight to Iguazu Falls. Upon arrival, walk along the winding pathways on the Argentina side of the majestic and awe-inspiring Falls, one of the world's greatest natural wonders. Iguazu consists of over 275 separate cataracts across a span of two and one-half miles, wider than Victoria Falls and higher than Niagara Falls - and more dramatic than both. Stand in awe at the unforgettable panoramic views before crossing the border to Iguazu, the Argentinean side of the Falls. After a day filled with unforgettable memories, return to the hotel and enjoy a typical Argentine dinner (own cost).

Day 3

Iguazu Falls (the Argentinean side)

Your adventure continues this morning at Iguazu Falls. A rail car takes you to the top of the Falls on the Upper Circuit, and you will walk to the Lower Circuit where the power of nature surrounds you. Continue along the catwalks to Devil's Gorge - stand in amazement as you gaze at spectacular "Devil's Throat" the most magnificent of all of the cataracts. View, photograph and feel the spray of the thundering waters, one of nature's most impressive achievements and a unique experience for your senses.

Spend the rest of the day exploring the natural treasures of Iguazú National Park, designated a World Heritage Site for its rare and endangered flora and fauna.

This afternoon transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 6

Buenos Aires City Tour

Discover the city's highlights this morning on a tour that includes the Plaza de Mayo, Metropolitan Cathedral and Casa Rosada (government palace). See the balcony where Eva and Juan Peron made their speeches. Then, to the colorful La Boca neighborhood, a working class barrio, and the old quarters of San Telmo and Caminito, a mix of colonial style homes, narrow lanes, artists' lofts and very trendy cafes. Drive to the Recoleta Cemetery, the final resting place of many of the wealthiest and most important Argentine historical figures. The grounds here cover more than four city blocks, filled with tombs adorned by works of local and international sculptors, and more than 6400 mausoleums including the tomb of Eva "Evita" Peron, always heaped with flowers and letters from adoring fans.

Spend the rest of the afternoon exploring some of Buenos Aires neighborhoods and fabulous collection of shops before this afternoon's tango lesson with professional Argentinean Tango Dancers. Tonight is at leisure, or, participate in the optional Argentinean Dinner and Tango Show.

Day 7

Buenos Aires El Calafate

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight from Buenos Aires to El Calafate, about 1,700 miles (2,700 km) south of Buenos Aires on the shores of Lake Argentino (Lago Argentino). When you arrive, you’ll be picked up by your professional guide and driven to your hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to have dinner (own expense) and spend as you wish.

Day 8

El Calafate Los Glaciares National Park

Today, enjoy an excursion to the Perito Moreno glacier in Los Glaciares National Park. After breakfast, make the 50-mile (80-km) drive from El Calafate to the glacier, which sits on the southwestern corner of Lake Argentino. The most famous feature of the World Heritage-listed national park, Perito Moreno is 19 miles (30 km) long, 3 miles (5 km) wide and 197 feet (60 m) tall. With your guide, walk along the 1,300-foot (400-metre) walking path that takes you to a lookout point near the glacier. You’ll spend about two hours here; when you reach the viewpoint (about an hour’s walk), your guide will give you free time to take photos and admire the amazing view of the glacier and lake.

Perito Moreno is a growing glacier, creeping forward a little bit each day. If you’re lucky, you may witness the natural phenomenon of ice breaking off of the glacier walls and crashing into the water. You may bring your own packed lunch with you to eat during the tour, have lunch at the restaurant inside the national park, or bring a few snacks on the tour and wait until you get back to El Calafate to eat lunch. The usual return time to El Calafate is 1pm, unless your tour group decides to spend more time at the national park. Please note, the entrance fee to Los Glaciares National Park is not included in the price of the tour; you will pay at the gate when you get there.

Day 9

Today is a free day to further explore El Calafate at leisure.

El Calafate Buenos Aires

After breakfast, spend a bit more free time in El Calafate before you are driven to the airport to catch your 4-hour flight back to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival back in Buenos Aires your will be transferred to you hotel for another great evening in this cosmopolitan city.

Day 11

Buenos Aires Australia

After you check out of your hotel today, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight home. Tour concludes - memories begin.
