Day 5

Osaka Nara Kyoto

This morning, drive to the town of Nara and visit the Todaiji Temple, one of Japan's most famous temples. The massive building houses one of Japan's largest bronze statues of Buddha (Daibutsu).

After the Todaiji Temple, wander back through Nara Park, home to hundreds of freely roaming deer. Considered in Shinto to be messengers of the gods, Nara's nearly 1200 deer have become a symbol of the city. We then continue to the city of Kyoto. We begin with the UNESCO World Heritage Kiyomizu-Dera Temple and drink to your fortune from the streams of the Otowa Waterfall.

NOTE: Due to limited space on the Shinkansen, tomorrow morning your main suitcases will be transferring to your Tokyo Hotel directly. Please prepare a small bag/luggage with all the necessities for tomorrow night.

Day 6

Kyoto Shizuoka

This morning visit Nijo Castle, the Kyoto residence of the Tokugawa Shogunate and a designated UNESCO world heritage site. It is then on to Kinkakuji, commonly known as the Golden Pavilion. A Zen temple and World Heritage site with two floors covered entirely in thin layers of pure gold and detailed architecture incorporating three distinct styles of Shinden, Samurai and Zen. Finish with a visit to the Togetsu Bridge, the landmark of Western Kyoto's Arashiyama District for over four hundred years.

Later, board the technological marvel, the Shinkansen (Bullet) train from Kyoto to Hamamatsu. Travelling at speeds up to 280 km/h it provides an incredible experience as the Japanese countryside zips by. On arrival into Hamamatsu you will be transferred to the hotel.

Day 7

Shizuoka Mt Fuji Tokyo

The group makes its way towards the serene Mount Fuji area near Ashinoko Lake. This lake was formed following a volcanic eruption 3000 years ago and now, along with the mountain in the background, makes one of Japan’s most spectacular and recognisable scenes. There is a visit to Oishi Park and Mount Fuji 5th Station. The latter offers an incredible sweeping outlook over the Fuji Five Lakes area below. Travel to Tokyo in the afternoon.
