To catch the sunrise, take an early morning visit to the mesmerizing Taj Mahal made of white marble, inlaid with semi-precious gems and stones at sunrise. It is the symbol of love built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal in 1653.

Taj Mahal is regarded by many as the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Islamic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish and Indian architecture styles.

NOTE: Taj Mahal is closed on Friday.

Afternoon visit Agra fort (A UNESCO World Heritage Site) built in 1573, made of red sandstone on the banks of river Yamuna and a fine example of Mughal architecture.

Amber was the ancient capital of the region. Now a deserted complex, it however still recalls its heydays in the majestic ramparts rising steeply along the contoured hillsides. Here elephants still carry visitors in stately splendours to the main Palace, through unusually high gateways, obviously designed to accommodate this archaic mode of transport.

In the afternoon weave through the lively streets of the Jaipur City and visit the pink sandstone Palace of Winds, City Palace with its museum and Jantar Mantar (18 century observatory).
