Commence your incredible Antarctica and Peru tour on arrival into Buenos Aires, Argentina. Enjoy a full day exploring this beautiful city prior to departing on your Antarctica Cruise, travel in comfort on the Celebrity Silhouette Cruise Ship. Enjoy port stops along the way in Ushuaia, Cape Horn, Elephant Island, Port Stanley, Puerto Madryn & Montevideo - marvel at the ever-changing scenery, glaciers, forest and the incredible wildlife. Take in the mesmerizing sights of massive ice flows, humpback whales, waddling penguins, leopard seals and more in their natural, and somewhat extreme, element. 

On arrival back into Buenos Aires you will depart for Peru, arriving in Lima enjoy a tour of the Colonial Center this UNESCO World Heritage Site has over 2000 years of history. Transfer to the Sacred Valley for your Macchu Picchu experience, next you are onto Cusco for some exploration of the Imperial City at your own leisure. Next, you will visit Pisac Village, explore the towns cobblestone streets and markets before transferring back to Lima for your flight home.

 Antarctica Cruise - boarding in Buenos Aires

If only one word could be used to describe this vibrant and richly cosmopolitan city, it would be "mosaic." Stroll along these broad thoroughfares, like the Plaza de Mayo, where famed first lady Evita Perón led fervent crowds to petition for her husband’s release from prison or visit Pirámide de Mayo, the oldest of the city’s many national monuments.

Transfer to the Cruise Terminal to check-in for your Antarctica Cruise, which will depart at approximately 5 pm.

Arrive into port at approximately 9 am, depart at around 9 pm.

No city on the planet has a more southerly latitude. As a result, the sun shines for 18 hours during each summer day, providing ample opportunity to view the mix of glaciers, forests and sea, all framed by Mount Martial to the west and Mounts Olivia and Cinco Hermanos to the east.

Day 7

 Antarctica Cruise - Cape Horn

Arrive at approximately 6 am, depart at around 8 am.

Tierra del Fuego, Land of Fire, is the most isolated place in the Americas, and Cape Horn is its southernmost point. These craggy cliffs and windswept shores are stark, rugged beauty personified, creating a dramatic setting for the collision between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

Day 8

 Antarctica Cruise - At sea

Schollart Channel, Antarctica 

You are certain to leave with amazing memories, and pictures, as you cruise through Schollart Channel located near Antarctica. Take in the mesmerizing sights of massive ice flows, humpback whales, waddling penguins, leopard seals and more in their natural, and somewhat extreme, element.

Gerlache Strait

It was the Belgium Antarctic Expedition that first explored this beautiful strait in 1898, and named it after their ship, Belgica. It was later renamed for the command of the mission, Lt. Adrian de Gerlache. This famous strait separates the Palmer Archipelago from the Antarctic Peninsula and provides visitors with calving icebergs, whales, seals, and plenty of penguins.

Arrive at approximately 2 pm, depart at around 6 pm.

As you hike through the rocky, windswept landscape you may observe a few of the island’s flightless residents—including Magellan penguins burrowing underground, and rockhoppers carefully observing you from outcroppings

 Antarctica Cruise - Puerto Madryn

Arrive at approximately 7 am, depart at around 4.30 pm.

This deepwater port was founded in 1865 by Welsh immigrants. Extending out into the Atlantic from Puerto Madryn is the Península Valdés, a wildlife sanctuary where vast numbers of sea elephants, whales and penguins far outnumber the few human visitors who make it out this far.

Montevideo is a thoroughly modern city with a rich artistic tradition, the reach of the rural estancias is all around you. If ever there were a time you were inclined to indulge, delicious steaks are the specialty of the house in virtually every restaurant.

Buenos Aires

Arrive back into the cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires at around 5 am. Transfer to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 19

Lima  Cusco

This morning’s tour of Lima, with its 2000 years of history, begins at the colonial centre of the city, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its historic buildings surrounding the splendid Plaza Mayor. View the impressive Palace of the Archbishop with its fine carved balcony, the opulent Government Palace, the official residence of the President, and the 16th-century Cathedral of Lima whose first stone was laid by Pizarro. Continue to the 17th century Monasterio de San Francisco complex with its magnificent tiles, ornately carved ceilings, exceptional paintings and world-renowned library. In the afternoon, transfer to the Lima Airport for your flight to Cusco. Upon your arrival in Cusco, transfer to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. This evening, attend an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager, followed by a Welcome Dinner.

Day 20

Machu Picchu

Early this morning, transfer to the Sacred Valley's Ollanta Station and board The Voyager Train for the ancient citadel of Machu Picchu*, a UNESCO World Heritage Site arriving in the early afternoon. Also known as "The Lost City of the Incas", Machu Picchu was built circa 1450 and abandoned only 100 years later. The purpose of this splendid city is still a mystery to modern historians. Enjoy exploring the ancient citadel and marvelling at the imposing Temple of the Sun, the House of the Priest, the Sacred Plaza and the intricately carved rock likely used as a sundial by the ancient Incas. The images of this significant archaeological site will be a long-lasting memory. This evening, savour a Peruvian dinner at your hotel

Aguas Calientes  Cusco

This morning, enjoy time at leisure before departing Aguas Calientes for your return to Cusco. Upon arrival in Cusco, transfer to the hotel. The remainder of the evening is at leisure.

Day 22

Cusco

Spend today independently discovering the "Imperial City" of Cusco, once the capital of the Inca Empire and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This lively city, rich in history, reveals remains of both the Inca and the Spanish presence. Take time to explore some of the city's stunning sights, or shop for some of the finest handicrafts and textiles in all of Peru. Participate in the optional Cusco "Behind the Scenes" tour, offering a glimpse into the other side of life in Cusco. On this tour, visit a local market and taste fresh-baked Chuta bread. Stop at the Cusco cemetery to learn more about Andean life and death and meet with a local "shaman" (holy man). After the cooking demonstration, enjoy a delicious meal. In the afternoon, join the optional Highlights of Cusco excursion that takes you to the impressive Colonial Cathedral with its collection of over 400 paintings, the Temple of the Sun and the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, which took over seven decades to complete.

Day 23

Pisac  Lima

This morning take a scenic drive to Pisac Village. There, explore the town and bargain with vendors on the cobblestone streets of the Pisac handicraft market. Enjoy a cultural blast as the entire town has been converted into a street market. Later, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Lima. Upon arrival, check into your hotel. Enjoy one last evening with the group and say goodbye to your Tour Manager and fellow travellers at the Farewell Dinner.
